Abstract | The aim of this article is to consider the relationship between everyday and advanced use of technology, and educational experts' contribution to it in Finland. Firstly, the state of technology education, with particular emphasis on ICT as its crucial component, is considered for the various levels of the Finnish education system. Secondly, challenging notions related to contemporary learning concepts, professionals' competence and research efforts are reflected upon in relation to Finnish success in technological development both in principle and in practise. Finally needs for multidisciplinarity research and development for user-friendly technology are presented. (DIPF/Orig.). |
